“Shahed Yaran” monthly publishes special issue honoring martyr commander Alireza Movahed Danesh
The new edition reviews various aspects of the martyr’s life through documented materials, oral narratives, evidence and interviews.
According to Navid Shahed, issues No. 230–231 of the magazine are dedicated to the memory of Major General martyr Alireza Movahed Danesh and include articles and remarks by Mohammad Esmail Kowsari, Ali Fazli, Seyed Davoud Rasouli, Mansour Kouchak Mohseni, Mohammad Ali Falaki, Mohammad Ebrahim Shafiei, the late Gholamhossein Movahed Danesh, as well as the martyr’s wife, sister and child, in addition to Mohsen Ebrahimabadi, Akbar Nojavani, Akbar Atefi and Abedin Vahidzadeh.
Alireza Movahed Danesh was born on September 19, 1958 (27 Shahrivar 1337) in the Kerman neighborhood of eastern Tehran. His father, Gholamhossein, worked in the defense industry, while his mother, Marziyeh, was a devout revolutionary who raised two martyrs. Alireza, the eldest child, joined the Revolutionary Committee of Shemiran after the 1979 victory and became a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
He participated in key operations during the Iran-Iraq War, including Tang-e Kork, Baziar, Mottakel al-Fajr, Fath al-Mobin, Beit al-Maqdis, and Valfajr 1–2. He attained martyrdom on July 4, 1983 (13 Tir 1362) during Operation Valfajr 2. His body was recovered after a week and buried in Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery, Tehran (Block 24, Row 73, Grave 20).
